Terrible Swede the "Earthy" Lutheran Blog vs The Largest Filipino on Earth vs "The Fluffy"
Doctrinal differences are important to the Lutherans because at the root of every false doctrine is the devil, seeking to destroy the Gospel.

One year anniversary of The Terrible Swede...

...is today! Here's's my first post. Sometime over the Thanksgiving weekend I busted a thousand profile views.

The first review was from Dan, the Geologist:

My best friend now has a blog. You know, calling it "Fearsome Viking" will not endure him to anyone in the Lutheran blogsphere. It is an obvious ripoff from Josh's "Fearsome Pirate". Come up with another title dude. Maybe he should call it "Raving Frenchman"... Other than that, it looks like a good start.

The second review was from Josh (AKA Fearsome Pirate):

He can neither spell correctly nor come up with an original name. Such is the way of things, I suppose, and I guess I appreciate the homage. Keep your eye on this one: The best Lutherans are always converts from other denominations. Might I suggest "Raving Swede?" Or how about "Jewish Madness?" Better yet, "On a Jew and His Lies!"

Chuckle for the day...

The subject of babies...

...comes up between My Tangible Peace and I. She says, "Admit it, you'd be giddy if we had a baby." I say, "Sure. But you would admit that you're giddy about babies all the time. It's that way from the time you're little girls to the time you're old Lutheran Ladies."

Your hand has been replaced by a rubber stamp. What does it say?...

...is the question on my profile. "Dumbass!" And my "holy" quest would be to stamp everyone, starting with me! was my answer but if everyone's a dumbass then no one's a dumbass. So I changed it to: "Dumbass!" And my "holy" quest would be to stamp everyone except me, starting with you!

BTW, I'll be adding many new Ludderans to the blogroll soon!

My Wife...

...gets jealous easily. For instance, she smacks me whenever I say, "Woman in one hand, beer in the other." or "Woman in one hand, coffee in the other." or "Woman in one hand, remote in the other."

So Dan, the Geologist (Strong Kung Fu - can break rocks!) OR Random Thoughts of a Confessional Lutheran is on this health kick...

...and I have this temporary - I said temporary - aversion to health kick. I just don't know when this temporary will end. Here's how I got the title "The Largest Filipino on Earth" the first time:
While in my second year at Bethany College, in Little Sweden, KS, in 1997, I trained for a machine gun competition. I ran two miles with a 50 pound backpack on the track & practiced shooting by night, all the while studying Calc 3, Diffy-Q, Linear & U-Phy2 by day.

The second time the title came my way was this:
I used to be an aircraft mechanic for one the greatest aircraft companies in the world. I also used to be an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force and Air National Guard. Those vocations required not a little strength. Then I went avionics with the Air Guard and my lay-off from my civilian job gave me, IMHO, a change for the better, non-destructive inspection (NDI). These vocations require not a little thought.
So combo my new vocations with the effects of beer and my irrestible black leather La-Z Boy - I'm doomed! I tell you, I'm doomed!

"I've lost my way. Show me."...

...says Kendra Torgan, the hit-woman of Killing Time, as she lures another mobster to his doom. If you love mobster movies, this one is great. A cop killer mob king gets his "rocks off" by killing people. He kills a cop and the cop's buddy, another cop, wants revenge. So he hires an unnamed Italian assassin woman. During the movie, the audience finds out she too gets her "rocks off" by killing people. Interesting...

My impatience...

...at the polls. My Tangible Peace & I went to vote (our citizen duty) last night. Our registration cards said that our polling place was supposed to be at the Army National Guard's armory. We get there and a sign is on the door to go to another place to vote, they were too busy recruiting young minds of mush. Some sargent even asked us, "Are the doors locked?" "No, Ma'am, we're here to vote." "Oh." She (don't even get me started on that one) thought we were there to join the Army - that would be certainly the last thing we would do. No consideration for citizens wanting to vote, just consideration for citizens wanting to die.

Anyway, my wife and I get to the new voting place, and I see the same system they've used in the past: Micro-Vote. Not impressed. There's a fairly long line (it's about 1745). They only had three machines running. My impatience grows. I immediately start looking for a chair for my wife, so she could sit down. Found one - I was ready to make it mobile for Erica, if I had to but there were several chairs and I didn't have to use plan B or plan C. Oh, yeah, the State of Kansas, only gives you 5 minutes to vote - to make one of the most important decisions in your life, so the line is moving. We see, as we are waiting in line, some familiar faces. One of them, likes to pretend he's blind. He uses the stick & walking dog but at the bread store he likes to stare at my wife. He ain't blind! He's a dumbass & I'll kick his ass. Finally, I realized, as we got closer & closer to vote, Micro-Vote, doesn't make their system very handicap friendly. Shit, will they let my wife vote sitting down? Erica tells me she'll be fine. Now, I'll be fine.

I loved it...

...as much as I loved Team America: World Police. Chris H. gives a link here with analysis of Eminem's Mosh. Beautiful. The lyrics:

[I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
And to the Republic for which it stands
One nation under God
Indivisible
It feels so good to be back..]

Scrutinize every word, memorize every line
I spit it once, refuel, reenergize, and rewind
I give sight to the blind, mind sight through the mind
I ostracize my right to express when I feel it's time
It's just all in your mind, what you interpret it as
I say to fight you take it as Iím gonna whip someone's ass
If you don't understand don't even bother to ask
A father who has grown up with a fatherless past
Who has blown up now to rap phenomenon that has
Or at least shows no difficulty multi task
And juggling both, perhaps mastered his craft slash
Entrepreneur who has held long too few more rap acts
Who has had a few obstacles thrown his way through the last half
Of his career typical manure moving past that
Mister kiss his ass crack, he's a class act
Rubber band man, yea he just snaps back

Come along, follow me as I lead through the darkness
As I provide just enough spark, that we need to proceed
Carry on, give me hope, give me strength,
Come with me, and I won't stear you wrong
Put your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fog
Till the light, at the end, of the tunnel, we gonna fight,
We gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march through the swamp
We gonna mosh through the marsh, take us right through the doors

To the people up top, on the side and the middle,
Come together, let's all bomb and swamp just a little
Just let it gradually build, from the front to the back
All you can see is a sea of people, some white and some black
Don't matter what color, all that matters is we gathered together
To celebrate for the same cause, no matter the weather
If it rains let it rain, yea the wetter the better
They ain't gonna stop us, they can't, we're stronger now more then ever,
They tell us no we say yea, they tell us stop we say go,
Rebel with a rebel yell, raise hell we gonna let em know
Stomp, push up, mush, fuck Bush, until they bring our troops home come on just . . .

We gonna mosh through the marsh, take us right through the doors, come on

Imagine it pouring, it's raining down on us,
Mosh pits outside the oval office
Someone's trying to tell us something, maybe this is God just saying
we're responsible for this monster, this coward, that we have empowered
This is Bin Laden, look at his head nodding,
How could we allow something like this, Without pumping our fist
Now this is our, final hour
Let me be the voice, and your strength, and your choice
Let me simplify the rhyme, just to amplify the noise
Try to amplify the times it, and multiply it by six
Teen million people are equal of this high pitch
Maybe we can reach Al Quaida through my speech
Let the President answer on high anarchy
Strap him with AK-47, let him go
Fight his own war, let him impress daddy that way

No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our soil
No more psychological warfare to trick us to think that we ain't loyal
If we don't serve our own country we're patronizing a hero
Look in his eyes, it's all lies, the stars and stripes
They've been swiped, washed out and wiped,
And Replaced with his own face, mosh now or die
If I get sniped tonight you'll know why, because I told you to fight

So come along, follow me as I lead through the darkness
As I provide just enough spark, that we need to proceed
Carry on, give me hope, give me strength,
Come with me, and I won't stear you wrong
Put your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fog
Till the light, at the end, of the tunnel, we gonna fight,
We gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march through the swamp
We gonna mosh through the marsh, take us right through the doors

[Eminem speaking angrily]
And as we proceed, to mosh through this desert storm, in these closing statements, if they should argue, let us beg to differ, as we set aside our differences, and assemble our own army, to disarm this weapon of mass destruction that we call our president, for the present, and mosh for the future of our next generation, to speak and be heard, Mr. President, Mr. Senator

Bold emphasis mine. BTW: Eminem's heavy with the polemics. Just to be fair: Eminem would be anti-Gore or anti-Kerry. He's anti-authoritarian! The essence of rap.

"Which both plays off of rap's fatalism...and plays into the quite American sentiment: Live free or die."

I'm still voting for Bush though.
