Terrible Swede the "Earthy" Lutheran Blog vs The Largest Filipino on Earth vs "The Fluffy"
Doctrinal differences are important to the Lutherans because at the root of every false doctrine is the devil, seeking to destroy the Gospel.

Scotch Is For Lutherans Is Good Fecal Matter

The latest edition of The Scheister is now up.

  • I know you're proud of your comment in that article.

  • Have you seen any articles about the new Book of Concord that was recalled by CPH due to doctrinal errors in the commentary? LCMS.org is mum on the subject. CPH.com only says that it is "out of print" and won't be available until March 2006. If you bought one of the soon-to-be-called 'first editions', it in now a collector's item. My google search yeilded nothing. Have your feelers in the blogosphere found anything on this?

  • Nick,

I'm CC'ing Pastor Paul McCain. He's the president of CPH and will address any errors (I do not believe there were any doctrinal errors) that your president of your congregation, Risen Savior Ev LCMS, claims to be in the new Book of Concord.

There is no recall on the new Book of Concord. There is no "out of print" but it is "out of stock" - that's a big difference!

I hope that you and your wife get one when they are in stock. I believe it to be an invaluable tool to teaching the faith to the family as a husband should (see the Table of Duties in your Small Catechism).

    Your brother-in-law,
    Ron Olson, the Terrible Swede
